reveal media bias!

They ignore the fact that people tend to start out liberal and move towards conservative as you get older.    The older you are, the less likely you want new ideas and progressive change.  The mroe likely you want safety and conformity of the ways you grew up with.

Of course people tend to get more conservative as they get older.  And each new generation starts out redefining their current opinion as `central`, even though it is more liberal than what the previous generation thought. 

Consider the treatment of black people.  Before the Civil War the idea of blacks as second class, but free citizens would be liberal.  Then, the liberals slowly moved towards equallity-but-seperate.  Then that became the conservative view and liberals wanted equality together.  Etc etc.

Each given generation found that the ideas they started out with as liberal ended up being considered conservative.  And each succesive generation always thought they were 'becoming more conservative'.  In truth, they were simply watching liberals ideals triump over teh old conservative ones and the battleground shifted.
