Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin was a hit with the party faithful at the GOP convention, but some of her claims were amiss. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee also delivered a few faulty remarks.

Victor:
In your understanding of the "deal" did O'R and FOX pull a fast one by chopping the interview into 4 parts.
I think Fox is being smart, knowing that an O'Reilly-Obama head-to-head matchup is worth quite a few ratings points - they might as well stretch the interview out. The tipoff? The rest of the interview is airing next week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - so as not to interfere with Countdown's interview with the Senator on Monday.
The Vanity Fair piece that mentioned the meeting between Murdoch, Obama and Ailes didn't mention anything other than Fox would not be in automatic attack mode.
That being said, I do wish it would air as one extended segment.
I would be shocked if McCain showed up on Olbermann's show. It would be in stark contrast to the running meme of the "media is out to get us."
Agreed - Senator McCain may have limited his media exposure with this line of attack. He's been on The Daily Show and done well enough, but now? No Daily Show, no Colbert, definitely not any MSNBC or NBC...
Maybe Fox. But that's preaching to the choir, not an example of the Straight Talk Express.
Slight correction Victor: McCain in fact---did limit his media exposure with his line of attack on the media. "Preaching to the choir"...chuckle.
This works for the dems I would hope. I'd like to see Obama and Biden suck up all the air time available. Welcome the media! Let them know that it's their job to question the candidates.
I like Obama's statement today, in telling the media he's been under the gun for 10 straight months, and Palin has been under the spotlight, "For what, four days?"
He's keeping a cool head, and is taking the high ground on every question by the press.
My guess is that it won't matter. The "media is evil" meme plays well in the hinter land. As such, I see McCain coopting the change message and winning in November as ridiculous as that might be.
I think the McCain campaign will try to co-opt "change", but according to the transcript of his acceptance speech, he only mentioned change ten times.
The New York Times has a nice graphic titled "The Words They Used" - worth a look.
McCains using "CHANGE" is called in political circles Triangulation. It was invented by old WJC.
