The smug laughter among liberal elites at Sarah Palin is quieting down, replaced by low moaning. Clive Crook of The Atlantic admits that there might have been just a bit of misunderestimating going on among the left:
...the Democrats have a problem. They had a few days of calling her a clueless redneck, a stewardess, a nonentity, and she has hurled that back in their bleeding gums. (If I were Joe Biden, I'd start practising for October 2nd right now.) Even before tonight's speech, they had backed off the "no experience" strategy, because (as the Republicans intended) that was sending shrapnel in Obama's direction. Their line right now is their default mode, that McCain-Palin is four more years of George Bush. But this too is a completely untenable strategy, since the Republican tic

A million, trillion Dollars could never come close to buying something as moving as when the little Palin girl spit on her hand and groomed the baby - it was about as precious as you can get, and the cool thing is THAT ITS REAL, not the fake crap that you find at Obama's sideshows.
The media had better be careful what they do, because people are getting fed up with their bias and their nonsense - now I'm not saying that Palin is not subject to the same scruitany that all politicians must endure - she certainly is, and thats fair game,
but the media is treading on eggs when they try to smear her family or her personal life; AMERICA ISN'T BUYING IT, AND IT WILL END UP BACK ON THE MEDIA'S HEAD, AND ULTIMATELY ON THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN, and they will suffer tremendously for it.
As for Gov Palin, she can more than handle herself; she has already gone up against oil men and not flinched, so good luck all you out there who think you are gonna actually harm her by your petty lies and smears. You will get awfully bruised, but hey, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Go get yourself some advil and some bandaids cause you're gonna need them.
Which part of the media would that be, reallytrue?
The National Enquirer? The ones who broke the story of John Edwards and his affair? The same ones who are sniffing down leads about Governor Palin and a possible affair?
The folks at Fox News and the Wall Street Journal?
"Media bias" is a tricky thing, reallytrue: conservative groups have a list of "liberal" media organizations... and liberal groups have their list of "conservative" media outlets.
On the other hand, we have Skewz.
I think it's actually somewhat impressive that the Skewz guys completely have a hands off approach here. I don't listen to all the podcasts. i actually think they are too long and they should change the format. But in general, they let the guest do the talking so it seems like they really are trying to create a forum for everyone. But I'm biased, I've come to know the founders pretty well.
On another note, I think Palin is getting an easier ride than Obama. If you just compare:
Patriotism -> Sessionist party
Reverend Wright -> Her reverend
Both of the above have not even been touched with it comes to Palin. There there is:
Troopergate
For the bridge before being against it
Hiring lobbyists
Running a highly partisan mayoral campaign where parties were previously unheard of
Crazy church talk
An alleged affair
and the list goes on and on
I mean the press was looking at Michelle Obama's writings as an undergrad at Princeton to find dirt. If you can't handle a little scrutiny than lay off. She came out swinging last night so any desire to not be scrutinized just went out the window.
In addition, I feel the press was a big huge cheerleader for the Bush admin. and the Iraq war early on. Everyone seems to forget that.
LEFTY:
What you saw last night was the next Vice President of the U.S. and you know it.
And it will because she appealed to the basest levels of human thinking and you know it. I
