Bush has enraged almost the entire nation of India …
Although what he said is undoubtedly true he’d have been even more accurate if he’d said that Ethynol and it’s voracious appetite for grains is the cause of rising food prices.
Unbelievable, you’ve finally found a target and nailed something down Marlowe. Now, why do you suppose no one else is able to see this as clearly as you and I?
Believe me lots of people know about it. I have several friends who are grain traders and they definately know what’s causing the problem.
Marlowe, these are the kinds of things that worry me about our country. People have blinders on! The scarry thing is that Ethynol won’t possibly meet our energy needs, and, the production of energy in this manner is destructive to the environment.
You are right and I am deeply concerned about this. Here’s the reality:We are wedded to fossil fuels for the foreseeable future
Basically our failure to admit the obvious will have us running around trying this and trying that all the while producing unintended consequences. Such as sharp food price increases. NOW DON’T MISUNDERSTAND ME. I am not saying we shouldn’t look for alternatives but to run off willy nilly and throw up subsidized Ethynol plants all over the place is ridiculous.I’d really like to know what politician created a mess like this. What sense does it make to develope an energy source that “costs” more in energy to make than it produces? This is sheer stupidity and I might add pandering on a massive scale.
I totally agree. Marlowe, I respect your ability to go deep into the heart of a matter, and I need your input on something that troubles me deeply…..perhaps more than it should.
Aside from the bickering and positioning of the debates and arguments on this forum, there is always a hope for me that we’ll all reach a conclusion on matters by reason of a thing being “self evident”. I look at “self-evident” as something that is beyond rhetoric and debate.
My question: Can you quantify how such stupidity can exist on such a massive scale. It’s like quick sand; the more I ponder and move through a thought process that tries to understand it: the more stuck I seem to become.
India has become the Chris Crocker of nations.
